Though I only touched down in Toronto for less than 24 hours, I was luckily positioned in the "Garden District"βa named recently bestowed upon the area I was staying in as a sort of "revival" strategy. Though the area wasn't particularly teeming with gardens or plant sellers, it was home of the Allan Garden Conservatory, which is a 100+ year old conservatory housing tropicals and cacti.
The Allan Garden Conservatory remains free, which is always such a surprise to me. (Perhaps I'm jaded coming from New York!) The gardens were lovely for the area, but they were a little unkemptβat least compared to other botanical gardens in respective cities. Luckily, unkempt plantings and chipped paint is still photogenic, so I was able to capture a little bit of the vibe whilst there.
The tulips wore their petals like stained, tattered dresses, unkempt and unruly.
